ABOUT THE ORIGIN
Central Kenya is home to the nation's most dedicated smallholder coffee producers. On the southern slopes of soaring Mt. Kenya the Nyeri region is characterized by rich volcanic soil that facilitates the cultivation of specialty coffee.
As in nearby regions, smallholders aggregate their coffee at wet mill washing stations called coffee factories. SL 28 and SL 34 varietals of coffee are harvested between November and December, fermented with fresh river water from the Gaichangari Spring, and sun dried.
