Farm Info

Marcos da Silva and his wife Carlizany dos Reis Cordeiro da Silva live with their two children at Fazenda de Serra in Caparaó. They have managed Fazenda de Serra since 2010 but their experience runs much deeper. Marcos grew up working in coffee fields with his father starting when was 12 years old, and Carlizany grew up helping her father at the Sitio de Serra farm. Since 2010 they have made multiple improvements to the farm, such as constructing a suspended terreiro drying patio and a greenhouse. Marcos harvests the 2.25 hectares himself and takes a very personal approach to producing coffee. The average annual temperature is around 21°C and the altitude is at 1,050 meters above sea level making the location perfect for specialty coffee. The property is located at an altitude of 1,072 to 1,193 meters, with average annual temperature between 19 °C and 22 °C. Fernando harnesses all these favorable conditions to produce cherries of the highest quality
